30 Days of the Norwex Enviro Cloth

UPDATE: March 23, 2012

After much consideration – and months of in-home testing and scrutinizing – I am convinced that e-cloth® offers a product that is equal in quality and performance to Norwex but is more reasonably priced. I still stand behind my review of the Norwex Enviro Cloth, but the e-cloth® General Purpose Cloth (and the new e-cloth® Antibacterial Cloth) performs just as well – and is of equally high quality – at a fraction of the price. My 30 Days of the Enviro Cloth posts can all be applied to the e-cloth® General Purpose Cloth.

Just to prove how versatile this cloth is (and in an effort to clean some often overlooked things around my house) I’m going to clean something with it every day for 30 days. Stay tuned.

Yeah, it seems to do what the Envriocloth does, HOWEVER, the Envirocloth has Silver embedded right into the material, which prevents the growth of bacteria. Essentially you have a clean, bacteria free cloth EVERY TIME you use it. The e-cloth does not have silver and only gets rid of all but .01% of the bacteria, essentially allowing that 1% to reproduce. http://www.ecloth.com/News.html read the “Scientifically Better” Last paragraph. Envriocloths do not allow the bacteria to reproduce at all. 🙂

    • Katie – thanks for the comment. FYI, e-cloth also has cloths with antibacterial silver in them (the Professional cloths). The beauty of both e-cloth and Norwex microfiber cloths – regardless of whether they contain silver or not – is that they dry relatively quickly, thereby inhibiting bacterial growth. The antibacterial silver only acts to speed up the killing of bacteria and is not a guarantee of a “bacteria-free” cloth. Please note that there are some cleaning tasks that will result in the Antibacterial cloth (Norwex Enviro or e-cloth Professional) picking up more bacteria than the silver can kill. In these instances (eg, cleaning raw meat juices or toilets), the cloth should not be used again without laundering it first.

It does great at cleaning up gum that went through the dryer, too!
